A Russian robot made a daring dash for freedom on June 15 from the Promobot laboratories where it was built. The Robot took advantage of a rare slip by one of the workers who had forgotten to shut the gate and ventured out into the street on its own.

The robot was reportedly built to move around independently with scientists at the research lab teaching it to engage with people and sell products at events. It managed to go a distance of 164ft into a nearby street before its batteries died smack in the middle of traffic.

An engineer from the research lab was eventually called to wheel the robot away.
