Serena Williams has shared the first photo of her newborn baby daughter and revealed her name on Instagram.
The tennis champion introduced Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr to the world with a video montage about her pregnancy journey.
“Meet Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. You have to check out link in bio for her amazing journey,” she wrote.
She revealed baby Alexis was born on September 1, weighing 6lb 14oz, but added there had been some complications with the birth.
“So we’re leaving the hospital after six days, it’s been a long time,” she said in an Instagram video. “We had a lot of complications, but look who we got, a baby girl!”
In an interview with Vogue, the 35-year-old, who is engaged to Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, predicted she would give birth to a girl.
“Alexis thinks we’re having a boy, but I have a strong suspicion that it’s a girl,” she said.
“Two weeks after we found out, I played the Australian Open. I told Alexis it has to be a girl because there I was playing in 100-degree weather, and that baby never gave me any trouble. Ride or die. Women are tough that way.”
